Marilyn F. Longwell
Principal
Ms. Longwell concentrates her practice in family law and related matters, primarily in Cook,DuPage and Will Counties. Historically she has also handled employment discrimination and other civil rights matters as well as school law cases and practiced at both the trial and appellate level. After practicing in the legal Department of the Illinois State Board of Education, she went into private practice. She has served as a hearing officer in teacher dismissal proceedings and was an adjunct professor at IIT-Kent College of Law and University of Illinois Graduate School of Education. She has twice been a finalist for Associate Judge in Cook County and is on the Child Representative list in Cook County.
She has written several articles and been a speaker on numerous legal topics. She was admitted in Federal Court in the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois (including the trial bar in the Northern District), the Federal Appeals Court in the 7th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Member of the Will County Bar Association and appointed to the ISBA Family Law Section Council. She is also past president of the West Suburban Bar Association and member of the DuPage Bar Association.
